Is this a subscription?
No! Historicle Pro is a one-time purchase. Pay once, own it forever. We believe in software the way it used to be - no subscriptions, no recurring fees, no ads.
What happens to my data?
All data stays on your Mac. There are no Historicle servers - not for sync, not for backup, not for anything. The AI features run locally using on-device models. We literally cannot access your journal because we have no infrastructure to receive it. See our privacy policy.
Can I try before I buy?
Yes! The free version of Historicle includes full journaling, semantic search, people/interests tracking, and more. Try it out and upgrade when you're ready for AI-powered features.
How do I access my journal from my phone?
Enable the local server in Settings and your Mac becomes the server. Connect from your iPhone, iPad, or any browser on your network. Your data never touches the cloud - other devices connect directly to your Mac. Pro unlocks unlimited API keys for connecting multiple devices.
Why isn't there a mobile app?
The AI features that make Historicle special - LLM chat, face recognition, emotion analysis - require significant computing power that phones can't provide. Rather than offer a stripped-down mobile app or send your data to cloud servers, we built local server access so you get the full AI experience from any device while your data stays on your Mac.
We also don't want to deal with managing backups of your data. It is your data and you most likely already pay for cloud storage, why pay us to store copies of it and create an additional breach risk? That stance limits remote access options that would be needed for a mobile app.
How do I restore my purchase?
If you've already purchased Historicle Pro, open the app, go to Settings, and click "Restore Purchases". Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID.
