Is this a subscription?
No! Historicle Pro is a one-time purchase. Pay once, own it forever. We believe in software the way it used to be - no subscriptions, no recurring fees, no ads.
What happens to my data?
All data stays on your Mac. There are no Historicle servers - not for sync, not for backup, not for anything. The AI features run locally using on-device models. We literally cannot access your journal because we have no infrastructure to receive it. See our privacy policy.
Can I try before I buy?
Yes! The free version of Historicle includes full journaling, semantic search, people/interests tracking, and more. Try it out and upgrade when you're ready for the full Pro toolkit - Goals, Smart Search, emotion insights, audio transcription, video export, and more.
How do I access my journal from my phone?
Enable the local server in Settings and your Mac becomes the server. Connect from your iPhone, iPad, or any browser on your local network. Your data never touches the cloud, other devices connect directly to your Mac using an API key that prevents unauthorized access. Pro unlocks unlimited API keys for connecting multiple devices.
Why isn't there a mobile app?
The heavy part is the local LLM chat, which needs more compute than a phone can comfortably provide. Rather than ship a stripped-down mobile app or route your data through cloud servers, we turn your Mac into a local server so you can reach your full journal from your iPhone, iPad, or any browser on your network while the data stays on your Mac.
There's also a deliberate choice here: we don't want to hold copies of your data. It is your data, you most likely already pay for cloud storage, and every copy we would keep is another breach risk. Why pay us to store it? That stance limits the remote-access options a mobile app would need.
How do I restore my purchase?
If you've already purchased Historicle Pro, open the app, go to Settings, and click "Restore Purchases". Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID.
